Walmart Thief On Jefferson St. Assaults Worker: Joliet Police

JOLIET, IL —A 49-year-old Joliet man is now within the Will County Jail after police say he tried stealing merchandise Tuesday afternoon from the Walmart on West Jefferson Avenue and when staff confronted him, Uriah Bowie attacked the employee and tried working away.

Round 3:30 p.m., Joliet police have been known as to the Walmart at 2424 West Jefferson St. Officers captured Bowie after he ran from the shop, police mentioned.

Bowie was later delivered to the Will County Jail the place he has been charged with aggravated battery, retail theft and resisting a peace officer.

“Officers decided that Bowie had hid merchandise in a bag after which tried to go away the shop previous the final level of buy with out paying. Bowie was stopped on the entrance by Walmart workers.
