BAKERSFIELD, CA – A person has been taken into custody after firing photographs close to the Bakersfield Walmart at Style Place. In accordance with a report by the Kern County Sheriff’s Workplace, on Monday, December 28, 2020, at roughly 1:17 P.M., the Bakersfield Police Division responded to a number of studies of photographs fired and a topic armed with a firearm on the Walmart positioned at 2601 Style Place. An on-duty California Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation Parole Agent was within the space, heard the photographs and responded. The CDCR Parole Agent was directed by witnesses to the suspect, Rodolfo Romo (31), who had fled into the enterprise. Romo was taken into custody by the Parole Agent.
The investigation revealed that Romo had fired a handgun two occasions into the air, whereas within the car parking zone of the open enterprise. Romo then discarded the firearm when it appeared to malfunction and fled into the enterprise. The firearm was positioned and seized. Responding officers evacuated the enterprise, reviewed surveillance footage and interviewed over 100 witnesses.
Nobody was struck by gunfire. The motive for the taking pictures remains to be below investigation. Romo was transported and booked into the Kern County Jail for reckless discharge of a firearm, and related weapon violations.
